Here to Help Answer Your Questions

I'm new to Derval.ie. How do I get started?

Welcome to Derval.ie! I have put together a really useful Quick Guide to Getting Started. This document has all of the key details you need in order to choose which challenge, plan or section of the site you should get started with.

It goes without saying, if anyone would like some guidance on where to start, based on their interests or goals, feel free to email or message me & I will be happy to help.

How do I get the Derval.ie App?

Search for ‘Derval’ in the App Store or Google Playstore to download the app

How do I contact Derval.ie?

You can contact me by emailing me at team@derval.ie or reaching out through Facebook/Instagram. All emails are responded to within business hours, which are: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm.

How do you stay motivated?

Like everybody, my motivation comes and goes. This is why I believe in long-term healthy habits. The key for me is to keep things simple and easy. My healthy habits are relatively easy for me to implement in my life. I believe if you put the basic foundations of healthy habits in place first, then you’ll never get too far down the road of demotivation.

Do I need a gym membership?

Not at all. All my workouts are home based and do not require any gym membership. You do need some equipment for Fit Blast/Tone at Home Workouts (kettle bell & skipping rope). These can be bought relatively cheap in shops such as Aldi, Lidl, Tkmaxx etc. or you can use home alternatives such as a milk carton, bag of flour etc.

How long are the workouts?

I know it can be hard to fit workouts into your busy life, so I’ve made my workouts very manageable. All of the main workouts in each of the Fitness/Pilates plans are approx 30 mins. There’s also a huge selection of shorter videos, ranging from 5 to 10 minutes, which are really effective. These are perfect for those days were you’re just too busy, but you want to fit something in.

What's the Private Facebook Group?

The Private Facebook Group is a great community where members share tips, recipes, and support one another. Once you request to join the site, we will get you accepted as soon as possible. Feel free to post pictures of any recipes you’ve tried, any quotes you like, anything like that, as everyone in the group will appreciate it, and I love to see my members getting involved. If you haven’t already done so, join our private Facebook group for members. The members group is where you will post your ‘accountability posts’ to help keep you focused during the challenges. The weekly LIVE workouts take place in here also.

What if I'm not on Facebook?

You absolutely don’t need to be on Facebook to be a member of Derval.ie or take part in my challenges. All of the Fitness, Nutrition & Self-Care content can be found on Derval.ie. Even the LIVE workouts which happen in the Facebook group get posted onto the site the next day. The only thing you can’t get from Derval.ie & can from the group is the accountability & motivation through posting. If you would like support and to be accountable to someone, then feel free to email me on team@derval.ie & I’ll be happy to chat with you.

I can’t cook, are your recipes easy?

I pride myself in keeping my recipes and food advice simple. Everyone can cook what I cook. I learned to cook in my 20s and believe it is a life skill we should all possess. My recipes use easy-to-find ingredients and are super fast to prepare.

Do you have a personalized food plan?

There aren’t personalised food plans on Derval.ie. My aim is to give you the tools and information to make your own good food choices. I have lots of nutrition information, strategies, videos and workbooks, as well as over 300 healthy recipes to help you to develop good food habits.

Do you cater for vegan/vegetarians?

Yes! There is a vegan/vegetarian tile in the recipe section of the site. I will be uploading a new recipe every second week to ensure you have a bank of healthy, tasty and simple recipes.

Can I Cast the Workout Videos to my TV?

Yes! You will need a TV with built in Chromecast/Airplay or an external stand alone Chromecast/Airplay Device.
Go to Derval App> Play a video> Click casting Icon in the corner of video timeline ( Looks like  a rectangle with a triangle on it).

How many devices can I be logged into Derval.ie on, at a time?

You can log into Derval.ie on two devices at any given time – so your phone and laptop for example. Once your account is logged into on a third device, your other two devices will be logged out. This is a new security feature we have implemented with the aim of bringing things to your attention if your account details are jeopardised.

It is not the same to close the browser on the other devices, you must be actually logged out.

Can I be notified when LIVE Member Events are happening?

There are weekly LIVE sessions for my members – workouts, cookalongs, Q&A’s & more! I want to make it as easy for members to access these sessions so I included email norification reminders so you’ll never miss a LIVE event again! Click here to set them up.
